We came back to Mexico, from NZ, in 2007.
Lack of safe drinking water is major issue in this area of GTO & we wanted to work on solutions.
I joined San Miguel Midday Rotary Club in June 2008 (thanks Gordon!).
We began a needs analysis with the idea of doing some sort of a water project.
We eventually arrived to Los Torres, a remote rural community in the Municipality of San Miguel de Allende, in Northern Guanajuato Mexico.
We were very lucky to connect with Holly Yasui & Cedesa - a grass roots organisation, working in community development before that phrase was even coined.
This is a record of the journey ...
My journey with the water project essentially ended in Jun 2012 when Lee Carter took over the reins from the Rotary Project management perspective...
As at March 2020 the project is still going strong...
Rotary, Cedesa & the organisation formed as a "bi-product" of the water project - COCIRA - continue with strong collaboration.
I happily continue to post all the information about the continuing project(s).
